I wrote this Saturday, and forgot to post. Sorry!
Today is one of my favorite days of the year – the kick-off of college football season. I love the Auburn Tigers, but bless our hearts, we have nowhere to go but down after winning the National Championship, and losing a bunch of players. ouch. The preseaon polls had us doomed from the start. So today began the roller coaster ride of a new era at the loveliest village on the plains.
I’m sure Josie didn’t have a clue about football (well, maybe she did) but I am quite vocal while watching, especially watching Auburn. Whenever my volume would escalate, ie: whenever I was screaming “run,” get him!!” “you’ve gotta be kidding me?!” etc… she would start barking at the top of her lungs. She just jumped right in and wanted put in her two cents worth too!
So today, when Auburn scored the first touchdown of the season, I cheered. Loudly. (ok, I screamed and hollered, and jumped up and down) and realized Josie’s chorus was missing. I sat down and cried.
The second time Auburn scored, I cheered. And Pippa barked. It’s a start. I’m sure Pippa will catch on soon enough.
Best two minutes in college football? The last two minutes of the game.
